DESCRIPTION
During my internship with the Parenting Education Program (PEP), I was challenged to move outside of my comfort zone, and push myself to succeed. I had the opportunity to participate in new experiences as a member of the Department of Family Services. In previous coursework, I learned facilitation skills. This internship allowed me to apply those skills as a PEP facilitator. I learned and taught curriculum to nurture teen development and foster healthy family relationships. Teaching curriculum allowed me to apply communication and classroom management skills. I also gained knowledge in recognizing and knowing how to report signs of child abuse and neglect. Above is a gallery with a breakdown of my internship, and some my accomplishments during this time.
